The 34th death anniversary of Bangla literature poet, philosopher and multilinguist Moniruddin Yusuf will be observed on Thursday.

National poet of Iran Ferdowsi’s epic ‘Shahnameh’ was translated into Bangla by Moniruddin Yusuf. He is remembered for the milestone literary work. He took almost 17 years to complete the translation.

The most readable books of the poet are: 1st Bangla Gazal, Betosh Pata Joler Dhara. Liberation movement basis novel ‘Panasher Kanta’. He is the writer of essays, dramas, and autobiography.

Greater Mymensingh Cultural Forum and other socio-cultural organisations have arranged discussion and other programmes to mark the day.

Besides, doa mahfil will be held at mosques in Dhaka and Saheb Bari Jame Masjid in Kishoreganj on Friday.
